Comparison of Ripple and Castellum - Probably not important to us
-
Defining channels for recruitment and strategy -
The recruitment takes place with us only over the telephone study
-
Other channels such as flyers, print advertising, brochures and direct mails might be important for the institute but not in regard to Castellum
-
Defining recruitment sources -
Creation and management of all sources of subjects (e.g. schools, hospitals, clinics, online sites, pediatricians)
-
Lists of sources have to be maintained and updated continuously
-
Might be important for the institute in general
-
Reorder tool -
Drag and drop custom attributes to select the order in which they appear on a subject’s profile card
-
Not important for Castellum, because the order of attributes is already set in a logical order
-
It might disorient recruiters if handiness is suddenly to be found before the mother tongue
-
Potential Subject Tracking -
Management of all enrolled subjects
-
Provision of a global view of all subjects and their progress through the study events (encompasses expected and scheduled appointments)
-
Color Codes: Orange = Expected (Automatically calculated by Ripple), Blue = Scheduled (Manually scheduled), Red = Overdue (expected or scheduled for a time in the past), Black = Completed
-
Castellum: To provide a tracking service is not our goal + it might not be GDPR compliant
-
Same for already enrolled subjects
-
Global ID -
Ripple: Unique ID assigned by Ripple that is global throughout all of the studies
-
ID is reported in the registry and in every study that the subject is added to in the subject profile page
-
ID is locked and can not be changed once assigned through the registry
-
Castellum: Global ID makes sense to me, if one want to search a specific subject (we do not want people to search for subjects though)
-
Custom ID -
Ripple: Study-specific alphanumeric ID to identify participants individually between each study beyond the Global ID
-
Castellum: Not important for us, since we want to assign random IDs
-
Study Setup - Display Settings -
Ripple: Setting Locale (probably not important for Castellum)
-
Study Setup – Bulk Tasks -
Ripple: creating groups of common tasks that always occur together (not important to us, since Castellum does not really assign tasks to specific people)
-
Internal Screening Forms -
Ripple: extra tool for screening potential subjects based on study requirements with inclusion criteria
-
Castellum: that “tool” is already integrated into Castellum’s recruitment section
